Through rigorous testing and countless hours of engineering we have developed a trailing arm for the Maverick R worthy of praise.
Adding additional gusseting at high impact areas and increasing overall structure to prevent failure. Whether you are a weekend warrior or a professional racer, we encourage you to equip your machine with the very best and leave the worrying at home while you focus on hitting the trails.
Laser cut from 11 Gauge steel, then CNC broke for precise fitment, we've meticulously designed our Boxed Trailing Arms to be a problem solving bullet proof solution for your Maverick R. In the thought process of design for these arms we set out to address quite a few areas we felt needed vast improvement.
Ground clearance was the first area of focus as that drives both design and manufacturing. We will list a few ways we accomplished this.
We focused on pushing back what we refer to as the critical pinch point. This is the point at which the trailing arm would first contact a large obstacle. We moved the critical pinch point to the rear of the vehicle over 12.5 inches. This puts the pinch point behind the outer circumference of the tire, making it much easier to avoid large obstacles hanging on the trailing arm before it has an opportunity to come in contact with the tire.
We have increased vertical ground clearance at the lowest point on the OEM arms up 2.8 inches higher. This allows you again to avoid those large obstacles much easier before contacting the arm.
Another area to focus is based on the cross section width of the trailing arm. The Maverick R inherently because of the sway bar connection has a very wide cross section. We decreased this cross section width in a very critical area where we are able to reduce the amount of diagonal dimension of the arm by 2.2 inches. This decreases the amount the arms stick out diagonally away from the centerline of the arm and again increases the amount of clearance over obstacles.
In search of strength we also incorporated an internally designed double shear back strap design for the rear knuckle area. In this approach we are able to connect the upper and lower radius rod attachment points to each other making the rear of the trailing arm around 215% stronger compared to a design without this double shear area.
In the search for transparency we reference our dimensions of ground clearance horizontally, vertically and diagonally with true numbers and not inflated values or rounding up.
These arms come standard in black, Legion Red, or Raw. Custom colors available upon request.
If you can break it, we will replace it.
